

SGS Essen won their first home game this season by beating 1. FC Nürnberg 2-0. The team showed strong defense and scored two goals to secure the victory.
SGS Essen played with energy against 1. FC Nürnberg in front of 1,412 fans despite heavy rain. Early in the game, Ramona Maier had a chance to score but was blocked by a Nürnberg defender.
The first half saw few scoring chances for Essen. Just before halftime, Vanessa Fürst crossed the ball from the right side, and it unexpectedly went into the net, giving Essen a 1-0 lead.
After the break, Essen kept attacking. Elmazi made a strong run but missed a scoring chance. Fürst also tried to score but narrowly missed. The rainy weather made the field slippery, affecting ball control.
Nürnberg had a late chance to equalize, but goalkeeper Kim Sindermann made a good save. Essen kept a strong defense throughout the match. In stoppage time, substitute Kassandra Potsi assisted Leonie Köpp, who scored the second goal, sealing the 2-0 win.
