Manaka Matsukubo of North Carolina Courage has been named Player of the Month for October/November in the NWSL. At just 21, she set records by scoring a hat trick and reaching 10 goals in a season.
Manaka Matsukubo, a 21-year-old midfielder for North Carolina Courage, has made history by becoming the youngest player to score a hat trick in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). This achievement highlights her impressive skills and determination on the field.
In her third season with the NWSL, Matsukubo scored a total of 11 goals and provided four assists. She played in every game this season, starting in all but two. Her strong performance placed her third in the race for the 2025 Golden Boot.
During October, Matsukubo scored four goals, including a standout performance in Week 25. She also scored a long-range goal against Gotham on Decision Day, helping her team finish the season with three consecutive undefeated games.
The NWSL Media Association has named Matsukubo the Player of the Month for October/November. This award recognizes her exceptional contributions during the regular season, showcasing her talent and hard work.
