RB Leipzig's women's team started their match against Bayer Leverkusen with difficulties. Leverkusen scored three goals early on, with Loreen Bender opening the scoring in the second minute, followed by Estrella Merino González in the ninth minute. Vanessa Fudalla, who used to play for Leipzig, increased the lead with a penalty in the 17th minute.
In the second half, Leipzig improved their play. Marlene Müller scored in the 56th minute, and Emilía Ásgeirsdóttir added another goal four minutes later. This brought Leipzig closer to equalizing the match. Both teams had several chances to score more goals during this active half.
