She also scored in eight straight games and against every team in the league, showcasing her consistent performance.
Tabitha Chawinga, Temwa's older sister and a former Golden Boot winner in Italy's Serie A Femminile, has been a strong mentor. Now playing for OL Lyonnes in France, Tabitha has encouraged Temwa to take every chance to grow in her career. Temwa credits her sister for emotional and professional support, especially during challenging times when she considered leaving professional soccer.
Before joining the NWSL, Temwa played in China and Sweden, scoring a total of 135 goals across those leagues. In 2023 alone, she scored 51 goals, making her the top scorer worldwide in women's football. She also leads the Malawi national team, which will compete in the upcoming Women's Africa Cup of Nations, aiming to bring success to her country.
Moving to the United States was a major step for Temwa. With the support of her family and teammates, she quickly adapted to her new environment and became a key player for Kansas City Current. Her achievements have helped raise the profile of Malawian football internationally.
